The entire Channel Four news team is about to find out exactly what Wiig is capable of, as the "Saturday Night Live" veteran joins the cast of "Anchorman: The Legend Continues." Wiig's casting in the upcoming Paramount comedy sequel was long rumored, but director Adam McKay has now confirmed the news as official.
"Just found out Kristen Wiig officially on board for Anchorman 2," the filmmaker revealed on Twitter on Monday (February 4). "Cannonball!"
The news was further corroborated by Channel Four's co-anchor Veronica Corningstone — or, more accurately, actress Christina Applegate, who chimed in with a tweet of her own: "Woohoo! That's so great."
