Hi I’m CANDI! Thanks for stopping by... Here’s a little bit about me.
I’m a seasoned broadcaster with over a decade of major-market experience. Throughout the years, my voice has been used for hundreds of radio commercials and promos. Plus, I’ve been cast for various television shows and projects. I’m a Media Industry Girl!
Promotional Appearances, endorsements, interviewing celebrities, hosting parties & sold out shows, blogging, production, interacting with fun listeners at client sites or simply doing a regular on-air shift. No assignment is too big or too small.
My career has allowed me to travel to some fascinating places and meet some amazing people. From being sent to host parties in Ibiza to coordinating beach volleyball on remote trips in Mexico – My job never feels like work to me! I’ve been invited to attend or cover several red-carpet events from, “American Idol,” “The Teen Choice Awards,” “People’s Choice Awards,” “The Grammy’s,” various movie premiere’s and more! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and or interviewing so many artists, movie stars and celebrities in my life, including: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, J-Lo, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Rihanna, Reese Witherspoon, Wes Craven, etc. etc! Too many to list.
Why did I choose Radio? Because I love music and this crazy Industry!
Growing up on Chicago’s south side, I was always involved with several extra-curricular activities to stay focused. Even as a little girl, I always had a big heart and big personality to match it. I started off doing radio my senior year in high school for WCYC. In my first semester of college at UIC, I transitioned to television and interned for WGN for 2 years and worked on the news desk and as a field reporter before being hired by CBS Radio. I later graduated from Columbia College with a BA, in Broadcast Journalism. I remained at B96 for 12 years, working almost every day part and building a great listening audience. I was the emcee for the Women’s NBA Chicago Sky Team when I started here at Kiss FM a few years ago, and also worked behind the scenes producing the, “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest Show.” I’ve been truly fortunate and have made appearances on MTV, VH1, FOX, CBS, WCIU, Laugh or Die and co-hosted the national television show, “The Black College Quiz - Know Your Heritage.” Currently, I’m anticipating an animated film, which I’ve signed on to play a hummingbird. Plus I’ve been featured in several newspapers and magazines.
While my first love is radio, I continue to branch out. I’m the anchor for, “DJ INTERNATIONAL TV,” which is a local music-based show that runs on Comcast, Thursday nights. I’m also a Star-Tender on weekends at some of Chicago’s hottest clubs.
I’m a passionate person and involved with several charities and participate as much as I can when I can.
In my spare time, I love to write, read, cook, mix music and spend as much time as possible with my amazing family, friends and wiener dog – Bruno!
