What does Ty look for in an intern? Motivated individuals who are interested in having a future in radio.
How long does the internship last? In order to be an intern for Ty, it must be for school academic credit. If you receive the internship, it would be the duration of a semester in school, (around 16 weeks).
How many hours per week do I have to be there? All depending on when you are scheduled to come in by Jen BT. Minimum twice a week, 4 hours a day from 4-8 PM.
What does an intern do? Assist Ty with on-air duties, filter phone calls, do topic research, help maintain Ty's blog on 1035kissfm.com, run errands, get Ty lunch.
What does Ty usually eat for lunch?
Subway. Usually a turkey bacon sandwich on flat bread with pepper jack, spinach, jalapeño, & light tomato, (with apple slices & a peanut butter cookie).
Jimmy Johns. Always a Beach Club with NO cucumbers, sprouts, mayo, avocado and EZ on the lettuce. (Ty can be pretty picky) And ALWAYS a chocolate-chip cookie.

What was your first impression upon meeting Ty?
I was completely star struck.He was walking onto the elevator as I was walking off.I somehow found the courage to say hi, and he said, “Hey! How ya doin?”I went home and told everyone I knew.
What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
Skim milk, chocolate chip cookies, linguini and fresh pickles from the deli
If you could meet any celebrity dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Kim Kardashian. I would love to go on a shopping spree with her!
Hey! I’m Cole and I currently attend the University of Illinois at
Urbana Champaign. I am Majoring in Aviation Human Factors and Minoring
in Communications. I was born and raised in Chicago (go Cubbies and
Hawks). I love airplanes and flying with a passion, and have my
pilot’s license. I am also the social chair of my fraternity and love
hanging out with friends. I hold my friends and family in the highest
regard and pride myself on being there for them whenever possible. I
also love food, skiing, and I am an avid sailor. I believe that it is
always important to have a good time and never be afraid to laugh at

What would you find in my refrigerator/kitchen right now?
Potstickers, fruit and juice to make smoothies, leftover pizza, steaks marinating for tonight’s dinner, bagels and cream cheese, Izze, everything you need to make chocolate chip pancakes, poptarts, bananas.
What habit have you picked up since working at Kiss?
There are two actually. The first is when I answer my phone I
almost always say “Thanks for calling Kiss FM, what’s up?” The second
is that I have started to wave my keycard for the station at my lock
when I get home. Really stupid, I know, but there are definitely crazy
things you may see us doing, and its just because we are in a Kiss FM
mindset a lot.
If you could appear on any TV show, which one would it be and why?
I have always wanted to be on the Amazing Race. I LOVE traveling,
and even if I didn’t win, it would be a great opportunity to see the
world.

My name is Andrea Oppan this past May I graduated from Columbia College Chicago
with a degree in radio broadcasting. I have always known that I wanted to work
in the radio industry, so getting a chance to major and get my degree in radio
broadcasting was the perfect thing to do to follow my dream. I am excited to be
Interning for Kiss FM this summer. When I’m not at the KISS FM station you can
catch me at WCRX 88.1FM a columbia college radio station where I host a R&B slow jams show on wednsday
nights from Wednesday 9pm- 12am. When I’m not doing my radio show at WCRX 88.1 you can
also catch me on SNRadioOnline.com Monday nights
from 9-11pm, there I host another show that focuses on underground Chicago artist with two
other great on-air personalities Stretch1 and Mocha Mona. When I’m not in some
radio station some where in the Chicago land area I am at work at Columbia
College Chicago in the campus card office. With the free time i have left, i like to spend it with good friends and family, they make me stronger.

Hi my name is Safa (Suh-fuh). I was born in Minneapolis, MN and
lived the first 8 years of my life in Cairo, Egypt until I went back to
the frozen tundra we like to call Minneapolis. I'm a senior at Columbia

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Katie is a senior Electronic
Media major at Bradley University, in Peoria IL. KISS FM has always
been my dream place to work since her high school days,. so becoming
one of Ty's interns was one step closer!!! She is heavily addicted to
reality television shows and crime dramas, and spends most of her free
time being a nanny for her ridiculously big family. Her best friend in
the entire world is her little sister, who sadly introduced her to the
addiction that is the Twilight Saga.She is absolutely in love with
Taylor Lautner!!! She hopes in the future to be an on-air radio
personality or broadcasting producer. She loves to go out dancing and
listening to music, hang out with friends and her family, and adventure
out into the city (even if her directional sense gets her VERY lost all
the time).
