Born and raised in Chicago and the West suburbs, Rufio's interest in radio came from one person: Zack Morris from "Saved by the Bell." KKTY Bayside was the coolest radio station and Rufio wanted to be just like Zack (what guy didn't!) So after working jobs from fast food to telemarketing he decided to follow that radio dream and enrolled at the Illinois Center for Broadcasting in 2007, where he landed an internship at WKSC 103.5 KISS FM Chicago. His hard work and dedication during his internship paid off when he got offered a job after graduation as a traffic reporter for Clear Channel Chicago's Total Traffic Network. His Zack Morris dream finally came true when he became an on-air personality for 103.5 KISS FM. When he's not rocking the mic on overnights and weekends, Rufio's the executive producer for the "Corder & Karen Morning Show" on sister station 93.9 Lite FM and local producer for "On-Air with Ryan Seacrest" on Kiss. Outside of work, you can find Rufio at his second home, The United Center, because he's the world's BIGGEST Bulls fan! He also loves to be the "life of the party" with friends and family, working out, playing video games and catch up on his DVR.
