Governor Brian Kemp: "Georgia is open for business"

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp released a video via his Twitter Wednesday evening announcing that "Georgia is open for business." Most of the harsh COVID-19 mandates that have been impacted the state are no longer in effect as of yesterday. “We know hard-working Georgians cannot endure another year like that last. That is why beginning tomorrow we are loosening the remaining restrictions on our economy here in Georgia."

The following restrictions have been lifted:

  • Gatherings ban
  • Shelter-in-place requirements
  • Distance requirements for bars, restaurants, and other places of business

Georgia is not alone as other states across the country are moving to lift restrictions as more Americans are getting vaccinated each day. The CDC and many health officials are warning that the pandemic is not over and a quick reopening could be detrimental to the country's progress.
